Elbows are commonly used connecting parts in piping systems to connect two pipes of the same or different diameter, thereby changing the direction of the pipe. By angle, 45 degree, 90 degree and 180 degree elbows are the most commonly used. The connection methods of elbow and pipe include flange connection, hot melt connection, socket connection and so on.

Elbows are generally made of metal or plastic materials and have good corrosion resistance and pressure resistance. Metal elbows are usually made of iron, steel, stainless steel and other materials, suitable for conveying high temperature, high pressure and corrosive media. Plastic elbows are commonly used in piping systems with low pressure, low temperature and non-corrosive media.

The role of elbows in piping systems is mainly twofold. First, it can change the flow direction of the pipe so that the fluid can pass smoothly through the pipe system. Secondly, the elbow can also reduce the pressure loss in the piping system and improve the efficiency of fluid transportation. Reasonable selection and installation of elbows can make the piping system more stable and efficient operation.
